FVBS Mtg May 14

This month’s meeting will be at Pillars at 605 East  Hancock St. The meeting will be on Tuesday, May 14th starting at 7 pm.  Ron Fortmann, from Ancient Arts Bonsai, will be our speaker.  He will talk about what to look for when buying nursery stock for bonsai.  Ron is also a judge for bonsai shows, and in connection with that he will also talk about what he looks for when judging bonsai..  He will also have plants, pots, tools, bonsai wire, etc. to sell.  This will be a great opportunity to purchase plant material that is already on its way to becoming a bonsai.

Starting next month (June 11) our meetings will be at members homes. The first will be at Dr Roisum’s home who will display over 100 bonsai in addition to an unforgettable conservatory and garden.

Also, remember we will have two opportunities in June to display our trees.  Even if you do dot have trees to display at this time, please sign up to help for at least one of them… preferably both.   Mitch and Tom W are heading these events.  At the May meeting they will have sign-up sheets.  The dates you need to save are June 2 and June 22.  Mitch and Tom will have more details on Tuesday.
